A-la-carte Enrichment

Overview

These are available to University and non-University students. We open new classes based on interest, class requests are always welcome. These are added throughout the year, based on interest, and will be posted on our website as they become available.

Before and After School Care– Students will experience a variety of developmentally-appropriate activities, unstructured and structured play, and enrichment activities. This is a great way to have more time with friends!

A-la-carte Enrichment– As of March 2025, we currently offer Spanish, STEM builder, and High School Student Government. Class options and sign up will be available on our website and registration typically opens in late-spring. To get an idea of what these classes may look like, see below. These are available to University and non-University students and are priced per class. We open new classes based on interest, class requests are always welcome. 

Classes run Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 8:30am and 5:00pm. Specific days and times for Fall 2025 will be listed by early June. Please join our email list for updates. 

Summer Camps– More information for Camps in June, July, and August will be available late-spring. 

Admissions & Enrollment

Lavender Oaks Learning Academy welcomes new students at any time during the year, providing space is available. 

New Families interested in joining Lavender Oaks Learning Academy University Program must:

  • Submit an Interest Form.
  • You will receive an email response within two weeks with additional information and a link to apply for Enrollment.
    • A non-refundable $50 Application Fee is due at the time of Enrollment Application submission.
  • You will receive an email to schedule a family interview. If applying for the University Core Program you will also need to complete and return a student placement assessment.
  • Admission decisions will be sent by email within 2 weeks after the family interview.
    • Upon acceptance, families will receive an invoice, by email, to pay their non-refundable Enrollment Deposit (see Tuition & Fees below).
  • Final half of Enrollment Fee will be due by June 1, 2025.

Students will experience a variety of developmentally-appropriate activities, unstructured and structured play, and enrichment activities. This is a great way to have more time with friends!

Intro to Spanish: Learn Spanish through songs, stories, fun games, and art projects in this fun and interactive class! Students in this class will learn useful conversational phrases as well as vocabulary pertaining to numbers, telling time, colors, school items, daily activities, feelings, articles of clothing, family members, and more! Students will also explore Spanish countries, cultures, and food. VAMOS HABLAR ESPANOL!!!

Calling all chefs! This is a hands-on, cooking class without the heat – where students will learn a variety of simple, safe, and enjoyable recipes they can make without the need for cooking. Kids will be inspired to learn kitchen skills and make healthy, delicious meals, treats and snacks. This class will include basic etiquette, table preparation, safety in the kitchen, nutrition, healthy habits and some kitchen craft projects, where kids can get creative making projects for the kitchen and even using things FROM the kitchen!
This class is designed to be a fun and engaging way to get kids active and thinking about their bodies, and overall health. Students will participate in basic athletic skills, fun games, learn how to make healthy choices and track their own progress with group support. They will learn that what they eat, and what they do, makes them feel better inside and out! Children will track their physical activity while at home, and will be rewarded for reaching their personal goals.

Creating brings your child’s imagination to life! Students will work with a variety of raw materials such as clay, wood, metal, and glass. They will learn how to use and create with these materials through fun projects that are hands-on. As well as creating, they will be learning about these materials and how others use them in their own creative outlets.
Let us help your child jump into the world of DIY, designed for elementary age boys and girls. They learn how to build and create, using tools they may not have used before. They will learn the purpose of the tools, how to properly and safely use them, and how to best bring your imagined project to life with your hands.
Learn how to express yourself and use your voice & body by experiencing different theater genres such as comedy, musical, improv, and drama. Learn a little about the history of Theatre, time periods, and influencers, like Shakespeare. In a clean and family friendly manner.
In this class students (no matter their age or reading ability) will learn the basics of coding and digital literacy. Whether you are interested in fashion design, geology, or dance, computer skills are a necessity! Before even touching a computer, students will participate in a series of “unplugged” activities which will teach basic coding concepts such as sequencing, loops, conditionals and functions through object lessons and kinesthetic activities. Then students will explore a series of game-like exercises in order to see how that concept applies to the world of computer programming. Other concepts such as computer etiquette and safety will also be covered. During the course of the semester we will also explore the inside of a computer by taking it apart! (NOTE: This class will require students to bring their laptop or another compatible device with them from home every class.)
Students will get the opportunity to get their hands messy each week by carrying out experiments! This class is designed to engage young scientists with fun, hands-on experiments designed to promote critical thinking and question development. They will then get to use their critical thinking skills as well as the scientific process to develop hypotheses on how that experiment works!
Did you know that creative writing is a form of art? In this class we will help open your child’s creativity through their words. We will practice story starters, poetry, full stories, descriptive writing, non-fiction, fiction and more. They will learn skills such as adding sensory descriptions, generating ideas, using gestures to show emotion, creating engaging characters, plots, writing dialogue, and overcoming writer’s block. Come join us for our adventure in writing!
Students will learn to navigate the art and science of home management. They will incorporate both creative and technical aspects of a wide variety of skills. Including personal and family finance, interior design, health and wellness, sewing, cooking, how to do taxes, and how to perform child care tasks.
Teaching students important lessons in adulting, much like the life hacks that go viral today’s world.
